At Schromen Law, giving back is not just a seasonal campaign or a line on our website — it’s truly one of our core values. From day one, we’ve believed that a law firm should be a force for good in the community, supporting people in ways that reach far beyond legal documents. Over the years, we’ve done this in many forms: organizing donation drives for urgently needed items for elders, sponsoring nonprofit fundraisers, volunteering our time with legal organizations that provide pro bono services, and matching staff and community donations to maximize impact.

This year, we are proud to share that our commitment to meaningful impact is reaching even further — beyond our local community and across the globe.

A New Global Chapter: Sponsoring a House Build in Cambodia

We’re thrilled to announce that Schromen Law is sponsoring the construction of a safe, secure home for a family in Cambodia through the Shinta Mani Foundation. Earlier this year, Founder Rachel Schromen had the opportunity to travel to Cambodia. While there, she met with the leaders of the Shinta Mani Foundation and toured the communities they serve. It was a deeply moving experience for her to see firsthand how much hope and transformation this work brings to the families who need it most.

The Work of the Shinta Mani Foundation

The Shinta Mani Foundation is an incredible nonprofit rooted in the belief that lifting families out of poverty requires addressing their needs holistically. Their programs don’t stop at providing safe housing — they also ensure families have access to clean drinking water, proper sanitation, and hygiene facilities. They run free training schools for hospitality, farming, sewing, and spa services, helping community members gain valuable skills and find dignified employment. They also support local schools and healthcare programs, empowering families to build brighter futures for themselves and their children.

This work is vital in a country still recovering from decades of hardship. In the late 1970s, Cambodia suffered one of the most brutal genocides in modern history, when nearly a quarter of its population perished under the Khmer Rouge regime. The ripple effects of war, poverty, and the loss of an entire generation of teachers and professionals continue to shape daily life today. Many rural families live without secure shelter, clean water, or access to consistent income.

Organizations like the Shinta Mani Foundation offer a path forward — not through temporary charity, but through sustainable community development that restores dignity and creates lasting opportunities.

Bringing Impact Home & Abroad

At Schromen Law, we believe that being part of a community means showing up for one another — and that our community doesn’t stop at our city or state line. Supporting this house build in Cambodia is our way of extending that circle of care and hope to a family a world away, while staying true to our commitment to give back where it’s needed most.

We look forward to sharing updates as the house build progresses and is completed, and we are planning to create more ways for our clients and network to get involved in the impact we are working to create. Whether it’s contributing to a future build, participating in local donation drives, or supporting the nonprofits we partner with, we will be inviting you to join us in creating positive change both at home and abroad.

Stay tuned — we can’t wait to share this journey with you.
